Hello,

I am currently working on a school project and i need to build an automated bender. Basically the function is to select a preset, the motor is started. an inductive proximity sensor counts the revolutions of the output shaft and when the pre set revolution count is reached the electric motor is turned off. The motor is 1hp single phase driving a 60:1 gearbox. Is it possible to create an electronic circuit using raspberry pi system to be used in this bender? What i had in mind is an inductive proximity sensor connected to the raspberry pi. The raspberry pi has a 240v contactor/relay as an output that is connected to the electric motor. When the raspberry pi records the target amount of revolutions, it sends a low voltage signal to the contactor/relay that turns off the motor. Can this be achieved with a raspberry pi?

Any help will be apprecited.
